Hurricane Earl Preparation

As much of the eastern United States braces for the arrival of Hurricane Earl, the American Red Cross of St. Joseph County has already begun to send aid to combat the approaching storm.  Marshall County Chapter Volunteer James Hale, along with Hank Parakowski from the St. Joseph Chapter will drive the Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) to Massachusetts in anticipation of Earl.  The ERV is a moble unit used in the distribution of food, water, and clean-up items.  Anyone willing to aid in the relief efforts can contact the St. Joseph Red Cross at Disaster Services Contact:  begin_of_the_skype_hi              (574) 298-2284

CPR for Infants and Adults

On August 21, over 100 people attended one of three sessions on infant and child CPR in a program jointly sponsored by the American Red Cross, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, and MomsMichiana.com.  All came away with much greater awareness of protecting the lives of small kids, and how to get help for victims underway rapidly.
